I made this soup last night to celebrate SPRING! Cucumber, avocado, plain yogurt, lemon, and chives pureed in the blender with borage flowers sprinkled on top. I wish a fairy would fly by for a tiny bowl!

Mother’s Day is Sunday! Time to hug those special ladies! How about making this  bouquet for lunch on Sunday? I just wrote this recipe for a veggie book I did for Country Crock called “A Very Veggie World”. You can download the book for free here. To make the bouquet, just saute some asparagus with salt and pepper. Make sure you do not over cook them-keep them green and crunchy! Place them in a vase. Cut some lemons in half in a zig-zag pattern and stick them on wooden skewers. Arrange them in the vase too. Put them on the table and tell your mom you love her!

To celebrate a dear little pal’s springtime birthday, I made these Ladybug Cupcakes! Chocolate frosting with crumbled chocolate cookies makes some nice sweet dirt for your lady bug to crawl around in! Add a few sprigs of green candy strips for grass to help sell your sweet springtime story.

I had the honor of meeting Sarah Petersen recently when a class of CalArts students came by to hear about my yummyfun job. Well I suppose I should wrap up Cake Week with one I made. Here is a Kitty Cake I made for a sweet friend who has a couple fantastic fluffy white cats! She asked for a coconut cake for her birthday, and coconut is fuzzy and cat’s are fuzzy…DING DING DING went my brain!

Yummyfun friend, Jasper, had a birthday and look what his cool mommy and daddy made for him to celebrate! So beautiful! So unique! Top of the line cake motorcycle!! I wish I could ride it into the cake sunset today!!!
